The Cycle for Peace will begin with council employees and elected members wearing tee shirts promoting our Peace campaign as they ride across country. The Launch will include a road show that morning in Newry. Newry and Mourne Council’s External and Internal Good Relations Officers will visit local children, senior citizens and community groups to talk about good relations and raise the profile of current programmes and future plans in the District.

16 schools from across the Newry and Mourne District will take part in the Annual School’s Quiz in the Canal Court Newry. Each school puts forward a team of players who are re grouped into mixed teams with other schools. The quiz provides the opportunity for young people who would not normally socialise to come together for an evening of craic. The young people are given an opportunity to network and develop links across the schools.

A youth event has been organised where young people from the area will get the chance to experience the music, arts and traditions of many cultures.
